 1.       What is Inventory Organization?

Ans - An inventory organization is a logical or physical entity in the enterprise that's used to store definitions of items or store and transact items.

 

2.       What are functions of Inventory Management?

Ans - Inventory Management functionality lets you manage warehouse activities such as replenishing inventory, counting stock (both cycle count and physical inventory), moving material within the warehouse, and issuing goods to manufacturing and Picking ,Shipping ,Receipts and  Consigned inventory capabilities are supported as well.

 


3.       List out Inventory Transactions?

5.       What is Available to Transact Qty?

Ans - Available to Transact equals the quantity already reserved and ready to transact.

Available to Transact = (Quantity on Hand) - Pending Transactions – Reservations

 


6.       What is Available to Reserve Qty?

Ans - Available to Reserve equals the quantity on hand minus the quantity already reserved for other orders.

 


7.       What's the difference between primary quantity and secondary quantity?

Ans - Primary quantity is the quantity of items in the primary unit of measure.

Secondary quantity is the quantity of items in the secondary unit of measure.

 


8.       Define Subinventory Transfers.

Ans - Subinventory transfer is use to transfer material within your current organization between subinventories, or between two locators within the same subinventory.

  


9.       What types of Availability displays on transaction screen?

Ans - Available- The quantity that's available to transfer based on the unit of measure you specify

On Hand- The current on-hand quantity for the item, based on the unit of measure you specify.

Secondary Available Quantity - The quantity that's available to transfer in the secondary unit of measure.

Secondary On-Hand Quantity-The current on-hand quantity of the item in the secondary unit of measure. This value displays if the item is under dual unit of measure control.

 


10.   How can I create a Subinventory transfer for consigned inventory transactions?

Ans - Enter a value for the owning party on the Create Subinventory Transfer page.

 


11.   Define miscellaneous transaction.

Ans - Miscellaneous transaction is the transaction which is use to receipt or issue the material without any documentation. It’s a logic transaction.

 


12.   Uses of Miscellaneous Transactions.

Ans - miscellaneous transaction use to Load all on-hand items during Inventory Management Implementation, Issue items to individuals, departments, or projects, Receive items that were acquired without purchase orders, to Issue damaged items to expense accounts, such as scrap.

  


13.   Define Interorganization transfers.

Ans - Interorganization transfers enable you to transfer material between inventory organizations without creating any document. The items that you transfer must be assigned in both the source and destination organizations.


 

14.   What are types of interorganization transfers?

Ans - 1) Direct interorganization transfers- Direct interorganization transfers move items directly between inventory organizations. The destination organization receives the material immediately when you submit the transaction.

2) In-Transit interorganization transfers- Source organization sends stock to FOB (free on board) point from that point destination organization receives the material.

 

 

15.   Why can't I select a destination organization when creating an interorganization transfer?

Ans - To create an interorganization transfer between internal organizations, you must first complete this setup i) Manage Interorganization Parameters

            ii) Manage Receiving Parameters

 

 

16.   Define Movement requests.

Ans - Movement requests are requests for the movement of material within an inventory organization such as a warehouse or facility with Pickslip document & Approvals.

 


17.   How to perform Movement request?

Ans - Create Movement Request > Create Picks > Print Pick slip doc (send it to store keeper) > physically move material > Confirm Pick Slip > Verify On hand Quantity

 


18.   What are the types of Movement request?

Ans - i) Requisition movement requests (Manual created)

ii) Replenishment movement requests (Auto generated)

iii) Work order/Shop floor movement requests (Auto generated)

iv) Pickwave (Auto generated)

 

 

19.   Can we cancel the remaining quantities of a partially picked movement request line?

Ans - Yes, to cancel remaining qty automatically enable/check the Close movement request lines at pick confirmation at inventory organization parameter.

 Or

You can also manually cancel the remaining quantity on a movement request by using the Manage Movement Requests. Select Movement req line and from action cancel the movement request.

 


20.   What is Movement Request Issue and Movement request transfer?

Ans - Movement request transfer transaction type is use to subinventory transfer.

Movement request issue transaction type is use to issue stock against account.

 

 

21.   While creating movement request, if we select transaction type as movement issue at header level, is it possible to change at line level?

      Ans- Yes, we can change it at line level.

 

 

22.   If we select receipt routing method at item level is different from we selected in receiving parameters, then which routing method system will take at the time of receiving?

Ans- Item level be the 1st preference

23.   Is it possible to do miscellaneous transaction from Manage Item Quantity screen?

Ans- Yes, we can do that from Actions, we need to select request miscellaneous transaction

Ans- Holding the inbound and outbound physical transaction manually by informing the warehouse team, there is no freeze kind of option available in the system. Physical counting normally does outside of the business hours.

31.   What is the reason if we are not able to assign locator at Subinventory level?

Ans- in Inventory organization parameter locator control is should be set as control at Subinventory level then you can control it at Subinventory level.

 

32.   Why can't I change the locator control of an existing organization at the Subinventory level?

    Ans- You can only change the Locator Control value when there is no on-hand quantity in the Subinventory. First issue out the on hand and enable locator control and receive the on hand.

Ans- Total Availability = on hand + incoming Supply-Demand,

Ans- Mis Receipt, Issue Back date allowed but not future date
